Why is my inbox different?

With all changes in life, understanding “WHY” a change is made, helps us to better adopt the change, and use the tool to its greatest capacity.

That being said, we listened, and found that the biggest area of improvement for us to deliver, was to increase the quality of the leads we send to each of you. In order to take a step in fulfilling this desire, we re-prioritized your OfferUp inbox in a way that brings the most ready-to-buy leads to the top! 

This will better ensure that if you are having a tough month getting to all of your leads, you can rest easy knowing your best leads are right there at the top of your feed. 

How did we do this?

Your OfferUp inbox was reprioritized using 3 main categories:

  • Has the message been read/responded to already?

  • Is the buyer serious about buying?

  • Have they sent their contact information?

  • Date/time

Knowing this, here is how your inbox is prioritized (from top to bottom):

  1. Unread Lead containing Contact Information AND classified as “Ready to Buy”

  2. Unread Lead classified as  “Ready to Buy” 

  3. Unread Lead containing Contact Information

  4. Unread Lead 

  5. Read Lead containing Contact Information AND classified as “Ready to Buy”

  6. Read Lead classified as  “Ready to Buy” 

  7. Read Lead containing Contact Information

  8. Read Lead

How to make the most of the new inbox

  1. Respond to leads AS SOON AS YOU OPEN THE MESSAGE so the lead doesn’t drop lower in your inbox before you are able to respond.

  2. Be sure to respond to ALL of your leads in order to make room for new leads coming in.

  3. Believe that each lead has value and a chance to become a sale.
